Nuclear Shields supplies lead and lead-free curtains for X-ray scanner systems used across security, food processing, waste management, and industrial inspection applications. Our curtains block scattered radiation at tunnel openings while maintaining smooth product flow through the inspection zone.

Traditional lead-based curtains offer proven radiation attenuation at competitive cost, making them suitable for security and industrial applications where lead content presents no regulatory concern. For food processing environments where lead-free materials are mandatory, we supply alternative formulations using tungsten, bismuth, and other high-Z materials that meet FDA and EU food contact regulations. Our curtain materials are available in protection levels from 0.125 mm Pb equivalent (for low-energy food scanners) to 0.50 mm Pb equivalent and higher (for cargo and high-energy industrial systems). Strip widths, lengths, and attachment configurations match your specific scanner requirements.
