2D grids add perpendicular septa to create a cellular structure that rejects scatter from all directions. This configuration delivers superior performance for CT baggage scanners and systems with wide X-ray beams where scatter arrives from multiple angles.
Tungsten and lead options
Grid septa are available in tungsten or lead. Tungsten provides higher attenuation per unit thickness, enabling thinner septa for fine-pitch detectors. Lead offers a cost-effective solution where septa thickness is less constrained. We recommend the appropriate material based on your detector resolution and energy spectrum.
