Product description

The Yellow Lead Blanket provides temporary, repositionable radiation shielding for maintenance activities in nuclear power plants, fuel cycle facilities, and industrial environments. The 6mm lead equivalent thickness delivers effective dose reduction for workers near gamma radiation sources.

Practical size for common applications

The 950 x 550mm overall dimensions cover pipes, small valves, and equipment sections typically encountered during maintenance work. The 800 x 400mm effective shielding area accounts for edge construction while providing useful coverage for most temporary shielding tasks. Multiple blankets can overlap for larger areas or increased shielding thickness.

Built for secure positioning

Slot handles on the top and bottom edges allow workers to carry and position the 24 kg blanket. Metal grommets around the perimeter provide attachment points for securing the blanket in place with ties, straps, or bungee cords. The blanket stays where you put it, even on vertical surfaces or awkward pipe configurations.

Fire rated cover material

The yellow vinyl cover is Fire Class M2 rated for use in environments where fire safety compliance is required. The cover protects the lead core and provides a surface that can be wiped down for contamination control. Each blanket is marked with reference and lot numbers for traceability.

ALARA program support

Lead blankets are a practical tool for reducing worker dose during planned maintenance, inspections, and outage activities. Position blankets around hot spots before beginning work, remove them when the task is complete, and store for future use. The reusable design supports ongoing dose reduction efforts across multiple campaigns.
