Lead Brick Caves provide ready-to-assemble shielded workspaces for handling radioactive materials. Each cave is a complete kit of interlocking lead bricks configured to create a three-sided enclosure with open front access. Simply unpack and stack the bricks to build your shielded workspace in minutes.

Pre-configured for quick assembly

Nuclear Shields calculates exactly which bricks you need and supplies them as a complete package. No design work, no piece counting, no leftover inventory. The interlocking chevron profiles guide each brick into position automatically, creating radiation-tight joints without mortar, adhesives, or special tools.

Each kit includes the correct quantities of base, middle, top, corner, start, and end bricks for your chosen configuration. The U-shaped design creates a shielded bay with protection on three sides and overhead, leaving the front open for operator access.

Add an L-block shield for direct viewing

For applications requiring visual access to the shielded workspace, add a tabletop L-block shield with lead glass window. The L-block mounts behind the cave opening, providing face and upper body protection while you work inside the shielded area.

The lead glass window maintains full visibility of your work while delivering radiation protection equivalent to the surrounding lead. This combination creates a complete workstation for dose preparation, source handling, and laboratory procedures involving radioactive materials.

Modular and reconfigurable

50mm lead shielding

The LB-50 brick system provides 50mm lead thickness throughout the cave walls. This shielding level delivers effective gamma attenuation for typical laboratory radioisotopes including Tc-99m, I-131, F-18, and similar nuclides used in nuclear medicine, research, and industrial applications.

The interlocking joint design eliminates direct radiation paths between bricks. Each course offsets from the one below, ensuring no straight-line penetration through gaps—the same protection at every point on the wall surface.
