The LB-C-550-550 Lead Brick Cave provides a wider working aperture for procedures involving larger equipment or two-handed manipulation inside the shielded zone. The square 550 × 550 mm interior offers balanced proportions with improved lateral access compared to narrower configurations.

Wider opening for equipment access

The 550mm width accommodates dose calibrators, larger vial shields, and equipment setups that won’t fit through a 450mm opening. This configuration suits workstations where instruments remain inside the cave during procedures, or where operators need room to position hands and tools side by side within the protected area.

Nuclear Shields supplies this cave as a complete pre-configured kit. Every brick is included—base, middle, top, corner, start, and end pieces in the exact quantities needed. The interlocking chevron profiles guide assembly without tools or adhesives, creating radiation-tight joints automatically as you stack.

Consistent 50mm lead protection

All walls deliver 50mm lead shielding using our LB-50 interlocking brick system. The offset joint pattern eliminates straight-line radiation paths between bricks, providing uniform attenuation across the entire wall surface. Effective for Tc-99m, I-131, F-18, and similar gamma-emitting isotopes.
