The Lead Brick Middle Start delivers the primary shielding mass at wall starting positions. Stacking directly on the Base Start below, this brick forms the main radiation barrier while maintaining the interlocking geometry that defines the system.

Main shielding at wall starts

The middle layer provides the bulk of radiation attenuation in any lead brick wall. The Middle Start contains substantial lead mass—50mm thickness engineered for effective gamma shielding. Stack multiple Middle Start bricks vertically for taller walls before capping with the Top Start.

The start profile ensures alignment with Base Start below and Top Start above, creating a continuous shielded column at every wall beginning. The chevron joints interlock with adjacent Middle Standard bricks along the wall run.

Tool-free interlocking assembly

No mortar, adhesives, or fasteners required. The chevron profile guides each brick into position, creating radiation-tight joints automatically. The offset pattern between courses eliminates direct paths for radiation streaming—complete protection at every point on the wall surface.
