The Lead Brick Middle Standard is the most frequently used brick in the LB-50 system. These bricks form the main body of every shielding wall, providing the primary radiation attenuation between base and top courses.
The core of every wall
You’ll use more Middle Standard bricks than any other type. They stack between Start and End positions along wall length, and between Base and Top courses vertically. For taller walls, add additional Middle Standard courses—the interlocking geometry accommodates any practical height.
The Middle Standard provides substantial shielding mass. The 50mm lead thickness delivers effective gamma attenuation for typical nuclear medicine, laboratory, and industrial radiation sources.
Self-aligning radiation protection
The chevron interlocking profile offsets each course from the one below, preventing radiation streaming through aligned joints. This staggered pattern happens automatically—brick geometry ensures correct positioning without measurement. No mortar, no adhesives, no radiation leakage paths.
